Aussie bogan death metal: two blokes from the back of beyond play the loudest, dumbest, most sincere death metal on Earth.
Skull Collector is a fantasy death metal project made as a single living artwork. This site is everything that goes into it; the band itself plays at skullcollector.band. The lyrics are spelled broken on purpose, "Skul Colectr", so the words become a code and the scream itself names the band. The debut piece, "Using", is built on a counted system: clocks locked at the same time across a map, an outer ring of thirty called spiritual, an inner thirteen that transforms, seven languages spinning the words, and a total of 3333. Sound, typography, image, number and myth are designed together, and each one is shown here as part of the work rather than as decoration around it.

"Inside close brackets is da screaming / Is da growling is da name / Colecti never sez it rite / But da scream makes it true"
Skull Collector started with a name that would not stay spelled the same way twice. Every time it was written, the word came out wrong somewhere, and instead of fixing it, the mistake became the method. The song "Using" grew out of that idea: if the word can never be said right, then the scream has to carry the meaning. Around that scream a whole system took shape, clocks all stopped at one moment, a scale marked on a map, thirty on the outside and thirteen within, seven languages, and a count that had to land exactly on 3333. A duet section folds a second voice into the work. The skull garden in the lyrics opens only when the count is complete, and this site is where the counting is shown.
